The Distributor Selector was located in the TBM's bombardier's compartment behind the flight deck. See photo and page from the TBM manual showing its location. This is an interesting WWII-era Directional Gyro

The indicator has labels showing service at US Naval Air Station Pensacola in January 1955 (see white label on side and blue stamp on back)

The master unit holds the magnetic element

The knob rotates a small indexing pointer around the perimeter of the dial (sitting at 5 G's in the main photo)

Protection for the airplane against damage from its guns

The scale is interesting in that the long pointer rotates clockwise from the 6 o'clock position indicating altitude in 100 Meters per index tick mark along the outer scale
