Vintage J&G Meakin Ceramic Saucer – Centenary Series EnamelwareJ&G Meakin had close family and corporate affiliations to the potteries Johnson Brothers as well as Alfred Meakin which explains the similarity of many of the patterns used on wares from these three manufacturers. J&G Meakin was founded in 18581, while Alfred Meakin wasset up in 1875. In 1968 J&G Meakin was taken over by the Midwinter Group which itself was taken over by the Wedgwood Group in 1970. In 2000 production under the J&G Meakin name ceased.
The set consists of four side plates and four dinner plates and the items were designed and manufactured by John Maddock & Sons directly after 1927 with each item having uniquely crafted floral style to its shape while decorated in the Maddock’s version of the collectable “Persian Rose” pattern which displays an almost art deco style floral pattern along the verge in deep yellows
they are still in good condition and will compliment any vintage table setting

Although this item would have come with a gravy / sauce boat originally
which consists of the saucer and a teal/ocean blue tea cup
A scallop detail also exists on the plates

The item was manufactured pre 1950’s by Yeoman under their Yeoman Plate trade name
The set consists of a rectangular fine porcelain sandwich/snacks tray with embossed handles and black trim along with 6 identical matching square shaped plates
