Description
Funadares Peligroso, by Lawrence Steven Faden, Amer., (b. 1942) Hand-ColoredHand Colored Lithograph, 1981, Ed. 15 25, 14 x 9 5 8, signed, titled, numbered & dated in pencil, on white wove paper 18 1 8 x 14. I believe these lithographs were printed by George Miller in New York, but have not located much biographical information on the artist. We currently have 3 lithographs, each a Memento Mori Day of Dead Carnival still life subjects with skulls and masks, of similar size, in editions of 25.
this impression is likely an early proof without any letters
on warm white wove paper 16-3/16 x 12-3/16
vibrant color and intricate details
small stain in left bottom margin
Born in Prague and raised in Vienna
who was equally at home with drawing
dedicated in pencil by the artist's widow to the Westport Women's Club
but still vibrant and pleasing
and resides in Traveler's Square next to the Jonathan Trumbull House
presents an eloquent plea and reminder of the struggle for equality under attack and in need our support and advocacy as much today as half a century ago
but excelled at drawing
considerable cockling to margins
